Calling teens to enter “Build a Better World” art contest at library

            GRAND ISLAND, Nebr.—Teens, ages 11-18 are encouraged to put their artistic talents to use and enter the “Build a Better World” teen art contest. This is the 13th year for the contest. There is no entry fee.

            Teens may enter up to two pieces of art such as paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, jewelry, woodcarvings, poetry, short stories under 500 words, or any other creative works that can be displayed on the library art alcove wall or surrounding area. The entries can be brought in beginning June 28 and should be assembled ready to hang.

            Art entries will be on display the entire month of July and will be judged the first week of August. Winners will be notified by Aug. 5. Prizes will be awarded for middle and high school age divisions. This year photography will also have its own category and awards.
