Craig Lewis has been the Building Department Director since 1990. Currently there are a total of 10 employees in the Building Department to facilitate the needs of the City's construction activity. |

The Building Inspection Department is responsible for uniformly administering, enforcing and regulating the building, zoning and construction laws that are adopted by the City, State and Federal Government. The Department's jurisdiction includes the City of Grand Island and the two-mile extra territorial area surrounding it. |
