Jon Rosenlund was appointed Emergency Management Director in 2007.  Jon has a Masters Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Russian, both from Brigham Young University.  Jon’s career in 9-1-1 communications began in 1996 as a public safety dispatcher, and expanded into the field of emergency management in 2003 in Sterling, Colorado.  While there, he served as a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) trainer and established the Logan County, Colorado CERT and Citizen Corps.  Jon and his wife, Becky, have five children.

Jon believes that actual community preparedness results from the combined efforts of local governments, families and businesses.  Jon ascribes to the motto, “Self-Sufficiency is Emergency Preparedness.”

Self-Sufficiency is Emergency Preparedness”

The 911 Communications Division receives and dispatches emergency calls for 20 area public-safety and public-service agencies and departments. The division also administers the city-county voice communication systems.

Both divisions operate from the Emergency Operating Center which is maintained in a state of readiness at all times to respond to emergencies and disasters
