Did You Know?
The following provides some answers to some frequently asked questions the Police Department receives.

 

Parking – Did You Know?
You cannot park your car in the front yard of your home.

A vehicle can only be parked on the street for 72 hours and then it must be moved.

You cannot have ‘for sale’ signs on a car parked on the street.

During a snow emergency, there is no parking allowed on snow routes until the snow is removed.

You must move your car off of the street when there is a heavy snow and the City is going to plow residential streets.

All vehicles, even those parked on your residential property must have current license plates.

You cannot keep abandoned, inoperable, or junked vehicles on your property.

You can’t park or drive a semi tractor on residential streets except for business.

You can only park a recreation vehicle, boat or camping trailer on the street for 24 hours before you have to move it.

Noise – Did You Know?
It is against the law if an officer can hear your car stereo playing from a distance of 90 feet.

You can be cited for excessively loud exhausts on your vehicle or motorcycle.

Community Appearance – Did You Know?
You must dispose of trash, litter, and other debris from your yard and from your home.

Your garbage at home must be kept in closed containers.  Your garbage cans must have lids.

You must keep your grass and weeds cut to less than 12 inches.

There is no fee to take your grass clippings and leaves to the City Transfer Station on Old Potash.

You can get a card from the City Public Works Department at City Hall that gives you two free trips to the landfill transfer station to get rid of trash and debris.

You must clean your sidewalks after a snow.
