DESCRIPTIONS
FACILITY MANAGER 1 position
Responsible for the overall operation and
direction of Business/Accounting, Aquatics/Safety,
and Concession divisions of Island Oasis Water
Park. Responsibilities include but not limited to
enforcing policies and procedures which ensure
efficient and effective operation of pool
facilities including personnel management and
training, accounting and cash control,
procurement, public relations and promotions.
Prefer candidates with significant knowledge
and/or experience in accounting methods and
business and operations management. Position
requires education and training equivalent to
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business
management or related area; possession of, or
ability to obtain a valid Nebraska Driver’s
License; possession of, or ability to obtain a
Nebraska Certified Pool Operator Certificate.
Salary: $10.65 per hour.
Immediate Supervisor: Recreation Superintendent
AQUATIC SUPERVISOR 1 position
Responsible for all aquatic operations, including
first aid, rotations, scheduling of 65+
lifeguards, 15+ water safety instructors, staff
training, limited pool maintenance and water
chemistry. Ensures that all rules and regulations
are properly enforced. Sees that all accidents are
properly taken care of and reported. Responsible
for coordinating the American Red Cross Swim
Lesson Program at Island Oasis and Lincoln Pool.
Prefer candidates with significant knowledge and
experience in pool management operations. Position
requires education and/or training equivalent to
high school diploma, preferably 2-4 years college
experience; possession of, or ability to obtain
Nebraska Pool Operators Certificate; possession
of, or ability to obtain American Red Cross
Lifeguard Certificate. Salary: $9.75 per hour.
Immediate Supervisor: Facility Manager
CONCESSIONS SUPERVISOR 1 position
Responsible for all concession operations
including food ordering, inventory control,
preparation and service; accuracy of receipts and
expenditures; supervision and scheduling of 12+
seasonal employees; development and implementation
of policies and procedures for daily operations of
water park concession division. Prefer candidates
with significant knowledge and experience in large
volume food service or catering business. Position
requires education and/or training equivalent to
Bachelor’s degree in business management or
related area; knowledge of public health
regulations and requirements governing food
service; possession of, or ability to obtain, a
valid Nebraska driver’s license. Salary: $9.75 per
hour.

ASSISTANT AQUATIC SUPERVISOR 4 positions
Responsible for assisting the Aquatic Supervisor
in daily tasks, supervising shifts at Island
Oasis, Lincoln Pool and Lifeguard duties.
Responsible for aquatic operations, including

relations, customer admittance, equipment rental,
ordering supplies, developing a staff schedule,
and general custodial work. Salary: $7.50 per
hour.

ASSISTANT CONCESSIONS SUPERVISOR
Responsible for assisting the Concession
Supervisor in daily tasks such as supervising
shifts and the implementation of policies and
procedures at Island Oasis. Responsibilities also
include but not limited to food preparation, cash
register operation, customer relations, ordering
supplies, developing a staff schedule and general
custodial work. Salary: $7.50 per hour.
Immediate Supervisor: Concessions Supervisor
LIFEGUARD 65+ positions
Responsible for maintaining order in pools by
preventing accidents through the enforcement of
policies, rules, regulations, and ordinances
governing the conduct of patrons. Lifeguards are
also responsible for monitoring the facilities for
potential hazards or unsafe conditions, providing
first aid to patrons, and custodial duties in
maintaining the facilities. When necessary vacuums
and cleans pool and deck. Prepares reports on
incidents and accidents. Position requires
possession of, or ability to obtain American Red
Cross Lifeguard Certification and must be able to
pass GI Parks & Recreation Lifeguard Skills Test.
Salary: $6.50 per hour.

Supervisor/Assistant Aquatics Supervisor
WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR 15+ positions
Teaches the various strokes, swimming skills and
water safety to students of all ages and with
various swimming experiences in accordance with
Red Cross guidelines. Enforces pool regulations
during class hours and assist in policing the pool
area. Position requires a thorough knowledge and
possession of swimming skills and the ability to
convey said skills to others. Position requires
possession of, or ability to obtain American Red
Cross WSI Certification.
Salary: $6.75 per hour.

Responsibilities include but not limited to
enforcement of policies, rules, regulations, and
ordinance governing the conduct of patrons. Other
responsibilities include general custodial work.

BOOKKEEPER 1 position
Responsible for counting, organizing and
documenting daily cash register and attendance
totals. Prefer candidates with significant
knowledge and/or experience in accounting methods.
