The City of Grand Island will be implementing a new utility billing system on April 1.
The new system will be used for the billing and collection of electric, water, and sanitary sewer services. It will include core modules for cash processing, billing, reporting and collections which support revenue management activities designed to provide exceptional customer service.
Some of the new or enhanced features include:
-online payment will save customers time by paying with automatic ACH recurring payments, a credit card or debit card;
-no longer a $2 fee associated with a one-time credit card payment;
-online system is available in English and Spanish;
-personal customer portal with online bill presentment showing up-to-date balances and usage history;
-bills can be paid by phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week using the new automated phone system by calling 855-748-6038;
-automated phone system payment feature which will give citizens the ability to make payments;
-citizens will have the option of receiving an e-bill each month giving customers more control over paying bills and reducing the risk of bills or payments getting lost in the mail;
-budget friendly options available which allow citizens the ability to pay the same amount each month with auto pay features.
In addition, at a later date the automated phone system can provide notices to customers regarding past due accounts and alerts such as service interruptions.
Customers will still have the options of paying bills by check, cash, money order, credit card, debit card, or automatic bank withdrawal.
