When the Hall County Board of Supervisors breached their contract for comprehensive library services (free cards and bookmobile service) they broke a 48-year promise of outreach throughout Grand Island and Hall County.
Rebuilding an outreach service for the youngest and eldest of Grand Island is a goal that will take some time to accomplish. At this time, we are taking our pick-up truck out on Tuesday afternoons, visiting some seniors who were previously served through the bookmobile. These deserving patrons along with our "homebound" patrons get tender-loving-care from Library Assistant Pam.
Thanks so much to our Grand Island daycare centers and senior facilities for picking up your crates at the library! The new pick-up window is very useful, isn't it?
