The Grand Island Games (GIG) is an exciting team Olympic style event! The goal of this weekend event is to allow participants a chance to experience a wide variety of recreational activities, meet new people, build company pride, promote community unity, and have some good old fashion fun!
CREATING YOUR TEAM: Team members must be 18 years old or older.
Teams may be comprised of co-workers, spouses, service clubs, churches, friends, etc...
Teams must consist of at least six people, but no more than 30. (It is recommended for teams that wish to compete in most or all the events to have at least 10 participants on the team roster.)
ENTRY FEE & BENEFITS: Cost is $20 per person. Free GIG t-shirt. Free dinner during Awards Ceremony.
DON'T HAVE A TEAM: Individuals may sign up for events and participate independently. (Individuals will compete for event awards, however no points will be awarded toward team standings.)
TEAM POINTS AND AWARDS: Participants/teams will earn points for their GIG Team by finishing first, second, third, or fourth in specific events. Teams can also earn points by their level of participation in other events. Team points will be accumulated to determine the GIG Champion. The top three teams and individual finishers will receive awards. The team exhibiting the best unity, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship will be presented the “Dakota Karn Teams Spirit Award!"
THE CORPORATE CUP: Teams that participate with only company employees and spouses will be eligible to win a special award called the “Corporate Cup!”
SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY: Organizations can invest in a sponsorship at a variety of levels designed to fit any budget. Sponsors will receive many benefits as well as recognition in marketing materials.
