Grand Island, Neb. β Grand Island Police Department Investigators arrested 21-year-old Joel Hernandez-Sanchez at his Grand Island residence on Monday, January 27 at approximately 3:15 p.m.
On Sunday, January 26 around 1:20 p.m., Hernandez-Sanchez is accused of arriving at a victimβs home (520 East 10th Street) with a shotgun and threatening the victim while demanding money during a debt collection. Heβs accused of pointing the shotgun at the victim, breaking a window of the residence and firing a round from the shotgun.
The victim then fled to the back of the residence and called police. Investigators found a spent shell casing outside the residence where Hernandez-Sanchez is accused of originally breaking the window. However, there is no damage from the shotgun being fired, and there are no injuries to report.
Hernandez-Sanchez has since been booked into the Hall County Department of Corrections for the following offenses:
Possession of a Firearm While Committing a Felony β Class II Felony
Terroristic Threats β Class III Felony
Criminal Mischief β Class III Misdemeanor
The investigation is still ongoing.
