Grand Island, Neb. — Effective immediately, all burn permits issued by the Grand Island Fire Department are suspended due to an executive order issued by Governor Jim Pillen.
Gov. Pillen’s order suspends all burn permits through April 30 due to extremely dry conditions and wildfire risks. In Grand Island, a total of 15 permits will fall under suspension. The Grand Island Fire Department will be calling all permit holders directly to inform them of the suspension.
