Fireworks Show

Grand Island, Neb. — Grand Island’s annual Community Fireworks celebration will return for its fourth year in 2026 with a special location change to commemorate the America’s 250th birthday.

The 2026 4th of July event will be held on the Stuhr Museum campus, offering attendees an enhanced experience, including the potential for larger fireworks.

ā€œWe are grateful to our partners at Fonner Park and the Grand Island Casino Resort for their support and understanding during this special year,ā€ said Fireworks Committee member Greg Geis. ā€œWe are thrilled to celebrate this historic milestone at the Stuhr Museum campus.ā€

The location change followed careful consultation with fireworks technician Don Wisniewski of J & M Displays and Grand Island/Hall County Emergency Management Director Jon Rosenlund. Considerations included launch site perimeter requirements, water supply, emergency access, parking and traffic management.

ā€œThis is a world-class fireworks show,ā€ said Wisniewski. ā€œThere’s no reason to leave Grand Island to celebrate. There will be plenty of activities leading up to the fireworks display.ā€

The Grand Island Community Fireworks display is funded entirely through community donations, and fundraising is currently underway.
