Grand Island, Neb. ā The Grand Island Public Works Department will be making a seasonal adjustment to the operating hours at the Yard Waste Site starting Monday, November 3, 2025.
The site is located on Monitor Road just north of Old Potash Highway, with new hours as follows:
Monday through Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday: Closed
The weekday closing time has been moved from 6 p.m. to 5 p.m. to align with reduced daylight hours following the end of daylight-saving time. The Yard Waste Site will remain open through the fall season and will close as weather conditions or traffic patterns require.
The Public Works Department appreciates the publicās cooperation and encourages residents to take advantage of the site before seasonal closures.
