First Responder Storytime Flyer

Grand Island, Neb. — The Grand Island Public Library is partnering with area first responder agencies to launch a new weekly series for local families.

First Responder Storytime will bring children and public safety personnel together through reading and interactive activities and will take place on Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. beginning February 21 and continuing through April.

Each session will feature a first responder reading a children’s story followed by a themed coloring activity. The series will begin with members of the Grand Island Police Department, with plans to expand participation to additional first responder agencies in the future.

The initiative is designed to create positive connections between young residents and the public safety professionals who serve the community while encouraging early literacy and family engagement. The program is free and open to the public, and families are encouraged to attend any or all Saturday sessions throughout the series.
