Grand Island, Neb. ā Residents and visitors are invited to explore the continued growth and development of downtown Grand Island during the 2026 Railside New & Expanded Business Tour on Thursday, June 18, from 5-7 p.m.
Hosted by the Railside Business Improvement District's Economic Vitality Committee, the free self-guided tour will showcase several new and expanded businesses throughout the Railside District, giving participants an opportunity to see firsthand how downtown continues to evolve.
"This tour is an opportunity for the public to enter and view some of the recent development projects within the Railside District," Committee Chairman AJ Fruchtl said. "We will feature retail stores, restaurants, entertainment and service-related businesses.ā
Participants may begin the tour at any time from 5-7 p.m. by stopping at the information booth located outside the Grand Island Convention and Visitors Bureau office on the southwest corner of Third and Locust streets. There, visitors can pick up a tour booklet containing a map, a list of participating businesses and information about each location. The self-guided format allows participants to travel at their own pace and visit as many locations as they choose.

Railside Rides, AMUR Plaza, 3rd and Wheeler streets

Majestic Treasures, 216 W. 2nd St.
In addition to touring participating businesses, visitors are encouraged to enjoy the district's public art, planters, landscaping improvements and the many shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities available throughout downtown. The Railside New & Expanded Business Tour is free and open to the public.
