Grand Island, Neb. — With the upcoming 4th of July holiday, the City of Grand Island would like to announce various closures that will take place on Friday, July 3.

All of the below departments will be closed:

  • Grand Island City Hall

  • Grand Island Cemetery Office

  • Utilities Service Center

  • Solid Waste Facility

  • Wastewater Treatment Plant

  • GIPD Service Desk (Please call 9-1-1)

  • Transit Office

  • Street & Fleet Office

                     

The Grand Island Library will be closed all day from July 3-4, and will reopen on July 5 at 1 p.m. Crane Transit will also be closed on both July 3 and July 4. Grand Island swimming facilities will remain open. Operational hours are as follows (weather permitting): 

  • Island Oasis Water Park - 321 E. Fonner Park Rd

    • 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. (Friday, July 3)

    • 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. (Saturday, July 4)

  • Lincoln Pool – 1018 E. 7th Street

    • 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. (Both July 3 and July 4)

  • Veterans Park/Stolley Park Splash Pad – 2820 N. Broadwell

    • 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. (Both July 3 and July 4)

  • Wading Pools

    • Lincoln Park – 715 Beal Street

    • Pier Park – 500 S. Oak Street

    • Grace Abbott Park – 601 W. State Street

      • 11:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. (Both July 3 and July 4)

Lastly, Jackrabbit Run Golf Course will be open for both practice and play on Friday, July 3 from 7 a.m. to sunset. On July 4, the course will open at 7 a.m., but will close early at 5:30 p.m.
