Grand Island Creative District

Grand Island Creative District

Spanning across the unique and diverse Railside and 4th Street districts, the Grand Island Creative District is a one-of-a-kind destination representing the vibrancy of our hometown. The district is a hub of community, culinary delights and cultural richness.

The Grand Island Creative District is home to HEAR GI, a ten-week summer concert series that features local, regional and national arts. The district also comes alive during the 4th Street Festival, a celebration that includes boxing, Mexican wrestling, costumes, delicious food, Mariachi and an abundance of art in various forms.

A visit to the Grand Island Creative District offers options for visiting galleries, and a stroll through Railside’s Sculpture Walk, enjoy a movie at the historic Grand Theater, take in the annual Harvest of Harmony parade, enjoy Fred’s Flying Circus, and create something of your own at the Happy Brush or Arts and Drafts. With historic architecture coupled with modern design, dance studios and beautiful murals, our creative district offers something for everyone.

Indulging at The Grand Island Creative District is a journey around the world. 4th Street offers Hispanic, Cuban and Vietnamese flavors, while in Railside, you can enjoy a taste of Ireland, Germany, and traditional American fare, and you can even get creative with your sweets at Big Red Treats.

Sculpture Walk

Sculpture Walk Map

It’s been said that art creates energy that attracts people. If that’s true, the power that ten original sculptures would bring to downtown Grand Island will be amazing. The sculptures will be displayed for one year in various locations throughout the district, all within walking distance, and will allow visitors to enjoy art, history, and culture. Each spring, an entirely new set of sculptures will call Railside home.
