Grand Island, Neb. — The City of Grand Island Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting team registrations for the 2025 Grand Island Games (GIG), an Olympic-style community event designed for adults of all backgrounds.
The event will take place July 25–26, with the registration deadline set for Thursday, June 27. Teams can be formed by co-workers, neighbors, churches, service clubs or groups of friends—anyone looking to compete, connect, and have fun. GIG features a wide variety of events including sand volleyball, tug-of-war, combat archery, bowling, trivia, pickleball, Texas Hold’em, darts, an obstacle course, spikeball and more.
The Grand Island Games were created to promote community spirit, provide opportunities to try new recreational activities and foster connections among participants—all while having a great time.
Each participant will receive a complimentary team T-shirt and dinner at the awards ceremony. Prizes will be awarded to top teams and individual performers. The cost to participate is $25 per person.
