āThe goal of this event is to build trust and strengthen our connection with the community,ā said Grand Island Police Chief Kevin Denney. āWe want children to see our officers, firefighters, and paramedics as approachable, friendly, and ready to help ā not just in emergencies, but as neighbors and community members too.ā
In addition to trick-or-treating, families can expect a variety of themed trunks and booths decorated by first responders and local organizations, giveaways and opportunities to explore emergency vehicles up close.
