Grand Island, Neb. ā The Grand Island Public Library will host its 23rd-Annual Bear Fair on Monday, April 13 at the library, which is located at 1124 West 2nd Street.
The event, designed as a health and safety informational fair for preschool-aged children and their families, will be open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and again from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Bear Fair offers free, engaging and educational activities focused on early literacy, health and safety. Families will also have the opportunity to connect with local agencies and organizations while children participate in a variety of interactive experiences.
Activities include meeting community helpers, listening to Bear Tales, participating in āBearobics,ā learning about dental and eye care, creating bear-themed crafts, enjoying face painting and treats, and exploring important safety topics with local police and fire personnel. Children are encouraged to bring a favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal to accompany them through the event. A limited number of stuffed animals will be available for children who do not have one.
The Grand Island Public Library serves residents of both the City of Grand Island and Hall County. Individuals who live in or own property within Hall County are eligible to receive a library card at no cost.
