Flyer about the GIPD Youth Summer Program

Grand Island, Neb. — The Grand Island Police Department is once again inviting local students to take part in its Summer Youth Program, which is a hands-on, week-long experience designed for students entering sixth grade.

The program, held at Newell Elementary School, will run in four separate weekly sessions throughout June from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Session dates include June 1–5, June 8–12, June 15–19 and June 22–26. The program focuses on providing a fun and engaging environment while helping students build important life skills.

Participants will take part in activities centered around leadership and goal setting, relationship building, and developing a stronger sense of community pride. The program also offers students the opportunity to interact directly with Grand Island Police Department School Resource Officers, fostering positive relationships between youth and law enforcement.

The program is led by GIPD School Resource Officers, including Officers Ben Arrants, David Caldwell, Bret Renz, Jeremy Gildersleeve and Hank McFarland. Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged. Those interested can sign up by visiting www.gipolice.org/summeryouthprogramregistration or by scanning the QR code included on program materials.
